How cute!! I didn't realize that masdies could be so small. And what a great way of growing it! It's almost like a christmas ornement.

I love the globe idea. How do you water it? Take it out and then return?

I'm not real sure, they are cuttings from a friends dish garden.

Thanks everybody. I'm glad you liked the globes. The one shown is 15cm diam, and what you see at the bottom is a mixture of styrofoam beads and sphagnum moss. I draped the live spanish moss around it to prevent the styrofoam from flying all over the place. To my surprise, it thrives! (I have way too much of the stuff, but can't bring myself to throw it out or kill it). It also traps moisture. I water and fertilize the masdies with a syringe. I prefer to keep the plants in terra cotta pots so I can change location if they don't like the conditions and to prevent over potting. So far, it seems to be working.

Really cute!

I have a Lephanthes calodictyon in a pear shaped glass bulb like Phal Grower shows. It's potted directly in it and is growing well and seems to love it

So I just bought two globes! I put a few of my tiny mini's in there. Hope they love it as much as I love the idea, lol...
