My "beutybox" =) Female
Classified Ad My "beutybox" =)

I really do not know the correct term for it in english, vivarium? orchidarium? Well it has sides of glas, full of orchids... what the heck, lets call it my "beutybox" since I'm a girl.

I did promise you some pictures so I'd better do as I said.
This is my first "beutybox" and I started it fully last summer (2006). The waterfall has been done using real stones as a modell and the painting really wasn't that hard. I mostly have Ascocentrums in it right now together with some Chilochista, Phalaenopsis etc etc...

There is only a Phalaenopsis pallens that's showing off its beuties at the moment, but these two are on the way (I think).

Haraella odorata (one visual spike to the right and a second comming on the left side too)

Gastrochilus calceolaris (hopefully spike, only had it for one year so I don't "know" it that well yet)

And my new "little" baby arrived a few months ago. I'm still figuring out what to do with it, but it'll probably be a new waterfall like in the old one, except this will probably be a bit smaller to save some space for... lots and lots and lots of new plants!

What do you think???

The correct term in USA is "awsum"! I love what you've done with that tank and look forward to seeing your new one all set up. Great job!

I think Gastrochilas calceolaris must have to put out lots of new growths before it blooms. Mine seems to want to put out vegetative growths like yours. Mine is kept pretty humid (over 90%) and warm (25-28 degrees C) and likes to grow new roots, new shoots, but so-far no blossoms.

Åsa, I agree! Awesome! That is one beautiful growing space... and the plants look very happy and healthy. Thank you for sharing photos! I bet your new one will be super as well - do you know what orchids you're going to put into it yet?

"Beautybox" is a great description - and very appropriate name for these!

Hi Åsa
Looking great!
I think I need to buy a cabinet as big as your new one. I will need it soon I think!
