I remember that species was described some years ago, Ranitomeya benedicti. The article is a great read! Thanks for posting.

I got these photos a few years back from someone associated with the researchers who found the frogs. Enjoy.

I read the article, and I think they were describing species that were new to Bolivia.
On my first and only trip to the Peruvian Amazon (my husband goes there at least once a year) we found a frog that was new to the Peruvian herpetologist who was there. He had cataloged the area, on the Tambopata River at a different time of year. It was not a new species, but it was the first time it had been found in Peru.

Connie, out of curiosity, why does your husband travel there so much?

As John said, he builds aerial walkways in various parts of the world, for ecotourists and canopy researchers. He has built some of them in Peru and goes there, usually in September to inspect and repair them.
Here's a link to his web site Canopy Construction Associates
Next summer, he may be bringing a small group of folks who are interested in spending some time in the Amazon. This would include birders, herpetologists, botanists etc. The idea would be to spend several days in one place and really get to know it. If he does I will go too.
I realize that saying I've "only" been to Peru once is still saying a lot!
