Does anyone have experience with this type of system for cooling a terrarium?

That looks like it will suck the humidity out of a terrarium, do you think? Also how big is it?

It circulates no outside air, but it would draw some moisture from the air inside by condensation. I was thinking of using it in combination with a fogger or mister, so I don't think humdity would be a problem. It mounts through a 8" x 6" hole in the side but other models/suppliers could be smaller or larger.

Yes, that what was I was referring to, an AC's ability to dry the air. And I was thinking if you have ways of pumping in of creating humidity it might counter act it and work. That seems like a really good little device. How would you set it up in your tank? Im really curious now.

I haven't gotten to the point of serious planning yet, so I really can't answer the question of 'how'. I was hoping someone else had tried a similar cooler and give some advice based on experience. I think this kind of unit would be around $200 minimum, but an additiional control device would probably be necessary.

Actually I have played around with peltier chips a bit and they could be used for this very easily ...and without opening the cabinet or introducing outside air.....not sure how effective one would be.BUT when stacked they can get down to cyrogenic temps though

Rather than messing around with peltier chips, heat sinks, fans, etc. myself this essentially ready to use unit looked lke a simpler alternative, since it is already set up for cooling a cabinet full of electronic equipment.

I was assuming it was a peltier chip in this system and was just saying it should work fine ....I was just referring toi the fact I have old pelteir chips from igloo colloers I have rigged into coolers for different thing just playing around they can cool to 40 % differen

and it can work as a closed system
