Re waterfall.
There is an obique-running piece of plexiglass from the front left corner of the tank to about 5 inches away from the left back corner, making a triangular reservoir.
A thin piece of smooth cut granite (~13x18") is put it vertically in the tank using plexiglas rails to keep it in place, parallel to oblique wall of reservoir, but a bit behind it. it is held above the glass floor by two plexiglas posts glued to the glass. (1.jpeg)
On the rear of the granite along the top edge, I glued a U-aluminum profile (rail from sliding door), Top edge of U-rail flush with top edge of granite. Then I glued an additional piece of aluminum strip on the rear of the U-profile, so that the rear is taller by about 2-3 mm than the top edge. This will force the water to flow over the front edge. (2 jpeg)

I put a small aquarium powerhead in the triangular reservoir, and with some hose and U-fitting, pump water into the top U-rail. On the side of the tank, there is a drilled hole for a top-off system, consisting of a float valve, connected to my water reservoir. The triangular reservoir is filled by gravity flow, no pump. (3.jpeg)

The additional pipes and hoses are for the chiller. In winter I put a aquarium heater in the triangular reservoir, which is quite efficient for heating. I use a 100 W heater for the 90 gal terrarium. Plenty to keep it at 60 F in my house.
