Hello...I just got done constructing my own custom terrarium. I made it out of 1/4" clear acrylic. It was very easy to do. I would recommend going onto "Tap Plastics" website. You can order all the pieces cut to your exact measurements. They have all the accessories you might need like clear hinges and rods. I would definitely recommend that you pay to have them route the edges of the acrylic...makes the tank look a lot more polished and helps with water tightness. They also have video tutorials on their website to show you have to glue the pieces together.

I have tried them at first I was told I have to have exact mesurements of what I wanted as far as what holes and ext. Well I drew up the plans granted they were rough but I thought they would be good enough for a professional who builds custom tanks to work out well I was basically told the only thing they would do for me was make the basic shape of the tank and the rest was up to me well I'm still very much a noob at all thus stuff too so idk if What I was asking was just really abnormal or what but when I hear custom anything I think of what ever you want like anything short of them making the tank shoot lasers but maybe I was asking too much anyway I'm sure they do great work but if I had the means and know how to do the rest my self i don't actually think I would need a custom tank builder but anyway I have found a tank online that I'm just going to have to make work when I get it in I'll post pics and a new forum on it's progress but thank you for trying I do appreciate the effort

I ordered a VISIO custom glass tank, which you can see here http://www.orchidboard.com/community...tml#post336380. The company website is Advance Aqua Tanks. They are a US company, so no issue shipping to the US. I did supply very precise scale plans to them, drawn up in InDesign. They do drill holes and made the custom internal divider at an angle, plus the support for the rock piece for the waterfall. You will have to order it through some kind of pet-shop, aquarium dealer near you.
If you want to do acrylic, then you can drill your own holes. I did smaller ones with regular drill, larger ones with a drill bit used to cut holes for door locks.
Be very careful drilling those holes. Too much pressure on the drill can crack the piece. So possibly practice first on a small trash piece, before working on the actual tank.
Drilling glass is best left to the pros. I did provide the actual pieces for what should go through the holes (bulkheads, float valve, etc.) so that they can measure the fittings themselves and drill accordingly. No misunderstanding possible. The rock was cut after the fact.
