help needed: when to water mounted chids?

My vivarium runs 85F in the daytime and temps drop to something in the 65F at night - having a all time 75-80% humidity.

I have some phals mounted on cork with some spag and some coco nut husk to cover the spag making all looking natural!

my Q is, when to water my mounts - alt their root are covered in spag - is this a mistake? can i remove the spag covering the roots, so i can watch them and then know when to water or??? im so so lost

i mist 1-2 a day all over and dip them once a weekish.

I'm in no way an expert with orchids and I have just started cultivating them in the last 6-8 months...however i was just in my local garden shop talking to there orchid expert and he had told me that he dips his orchids once a week in general. The moss should be able to hold the water long enough. Hope that helps

would mist every day. depends on the humidity. mounted orchids dry very quickly. then depends on what orchid it is

I water pretty much all of my mounted plants (that aren't in terraria) every day at least once. Often in the summer they get it 2-3 times per day. I don't mist because the effect is very short-lived.

Don't take the moss off the mount because it will save you from watering constantly. Mounts that don't have moss dry out very quickly. Simply water when the moss is almost completely dry. In those humidity conditions you will probably have to water every few days at least. But definitely check them often - you will only be able to judge how often to water by looking at them.
