Now I'm using that 50-gallon setup as an unofficial riparium plant propagation tank. There are plants hung on all four panes of glass. It's not much of an aquarium display at the moment, but looks kind of cool from the top.

Here's a quick shot of my new 15-gallon setup.

I think I need to find a good sub-forum to inquire about those possibly smaller Spathoglottis varieties.

I have discovered a really fantastic riparium plant. Cyrtosperma johnstonii is a large aroid with amazing foliage. The arrowhead-shaped leaves have this wild pink, green and gold coloration.

The leaf petioles are also unique, with many curved thorns and a purple snakeskin patternation.

This plant does get to be large (<6'). This specimen is now about 30" tall, but it is growing four little suckering plantlets around the base. It should be easy enough to just snap these off and start new small plants as the main stalk gets to be too large.

The newest leaf is going to be larger and it looks as though it will have even more of the gold and pink coloration.

Nice one. Are you planning to trim it or just pluck it once it gets too big?

Hey thanks you guys.

I can keep this plant in here for at least another month or so until it grows another new big leaf. I might try keeping it in a sheltered spot outside this summer. The little divisions can go into my riparium growout tanks.

I was over there at the garden center servicing my 55-gallon riparium setup today and I got a couple of shots. The plants have grown up quite a bit. Here is a view in through the top.

I had replaced most of the crypts and Anubias that I had in this setup previously with houseplant/tropical plants, such as Dieffenbachia and others. These plants are all easy and undemanding. There is still a C. pontederrifolia and a A. barteri var. nana in there.

I was reminded that there is a quick demo video on using those riparium magnet planters and trellis rafts over at plantedbox.com. Here is the link to the Vimeo video.

Yeah he has a nice camera and he gets real nice video. The image quality is so sharp in Mark's videos.

Here's a quick shot of the 15-gallon riparium setup from a couple of nights ago. There's nothing much new in this tank. It has been real easy care--all I do is change the water, feed the fish and clean the glass. The plants have grown in a bit more.

I need to take some time and try to get a shot of this tank with the fish in view.
