Beautiful design! I wish I had developed an interest in woodwork earlier in life, despite the fact that I'm still young. Maybe I could ask my grandpa to build me something like this. He's an amazing woodworker.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful design with us!

thanks for all the nice comments. One of the nice things about being a craftsman, is that you can make things you could never afford to buy! You should see our indoor bird aviary too. I am going to build a bigger version of this Wardian Case eventually....EVENTUALLY,.....I need space for some bigger plants.

I bet he would love to do it for you and think how great it would be to have something he made for you.

What would be even better is if we worked on it together. This could be the project that starts my education! I'm trying to do so many things this summer, but I think I might have to make this a priority.

Very pretty. Do you have any concerns related to the wood warping over time?

Might not get an answer, as the thread is over 3 years old. The original poster posted another beautifully crafted case in early 2012, but hasn't been active here since.

I see there is a link in his profile that allows you to send him a regular email via OB.

I wonder if greenbean ever built this with his grandfather? What I would give to have my grandfather back... He could've taught me how to build something like this...
Maybe I can marry a handsome cabinet maker?... Lmao
