Better emphasise the "some" in my last comment.... Most sellers are nice people...

Though there was that one nursery near Bangkok where one of the workers was more than a little overly attentive. Lucky for me, my partner was keeping a watchful eye and giving the death stare

Back on topic though, I am going with Wardian Case from now on

Brett

Default to be or not to be

You got to be kidding me! They can shove it for all i care. ok lets come up with a new word for our growing enviroments. Well I built my Orchida**um for pennys next to the dollar. I wonder what orchidairum.com would charge for the size I built myself.probably in the thousands of dollars. Now for the new name.
I GOT IT! Orchidaceahotelium.

Dunno, I like wardian case. It must be the romance and drama of a bye gone era

orchidarium.com will be fighting the world if they want to push this as so many businesses around the globe use the term which has been around longer than them.

Wonder how they are going to get the Singaporean Botanical Gardens to use another name. I bet the PM in Singapore would happily tell them were to go.

when used to refer to a botanical garden specializing in orchids, orchidarium is a generic term and cannot be trademarked.

when used in reference to a box used to grow orchids, it is a trademark of orchidarium, inc.

I prefer the term "Wardian Case"

Although on a good note for orchidarium.com im sure their websites have gotten NUMEROUS hits. I think they should be thankfull orchidarium is such a commonly used term for orchids, and their terrarium enclosure. Im sure that probably half their customers wouldn't have bought an 'orchidarium' unless it were for the wide range of usage that they knew a specific term to search for on google.
