I know! The media seems fast draining enough, but perhaps it's begun to break down too much. After I figure out if this thing is trying to develop a seed pod or not, I may repot it. Or more likely, divide it, then repot half, and mount the other half.

Nice looking set up! I wonder if the screen for shading will even be necessary? Seems like many low light plants don't need shading from fluorescent bulbs but then I've never used bulbs for aquariums before. I'll stay turned to see how things develop
Though I know these lights are nothing compared to actual sunlight, I still feel they may be too intense outright. I'm erring on the side of caution until I can pick up a light meter. As for the Heli and Ceph, they'll both be divided very soon...I'm waiting for some potting materials to arrive. I also have a pot with 3 Ceph cuttings that have been rooted for somewhere around 2 years, also. So, if you're interested, let me know.

Here's the Heliamphora minor

Just a wonderful tank! Mine is getting full as well and I look forward to seeing photos of your aquisitions and the growth on your current orchids. Nice tank!

What an absolutely amazing setup Love your carnivorous plants too...how do you keep everyone watered and moist? Regarding your other thread, I have problems in my tank with humidity as well, and I don't even have a fan in there (I know, I know..but I have ventilation slots and so far after 4 months, no rot at all). Things go up to 80 after misting, but drop to 50 in between cycles.

Well, as far as watering, I give a fine mist every morning, and then I spray more thoroughly every Wednesday and Saturday morning. I also fertilize every other Wednesday when I water.

yep I love the carnivorous... I.ll trade a cutting of nepenthes glabrata for a piece of the heliamphora.
Great job on the wardian case.

Figured it's time for an update on this thing. Used some Christmas money to fill it in a bit. Lots of new Nepenthes, mostly.

I grouped all the orchids together, so it's a little more organized. I also took the shade screen off the one side. This is the back wall on what used to be the shady side...it doesn't show everything, but it's a nice grouping: Top row (left to right) - Epidendrum longirepens, Schoenorchis fragrans, Bulbophyllum/Cirrhopetalum tingabarinum. Bottom row (left to right) - Pleurothallis microphylla, Lepanthes fiskei, Pleurothallis grobyi, and Masdevallia minuta

Here's on what has been the brighter side the entire time. Again, it's not all of them, though: Left to right - Dendrobium lanyaiae, Bulbophyllum brevistylidium, Dendrobium prenticeii, Oncidium pumilum (on its last leg, unfortunately), Dendrobium lichenastrum (2 of them), Dendrobium wassellii, and a group of Neoregelia liliputiana bromeliads

This is a neat little plant. It's like a miniature palm tree or tree fern. It's taken off since I removed the shade screening, and is growing WAY faster than I thought it would. This is about as big as it should get, though. Biophytum sensitivum

Most of my divisions that I've taken lately. Most of them took really well, with the exception of the Masdevallia minuta.

And finally, a bunch of new Nepenthes. In order, N. lowii, N. ephippiata, N. rajah, N. villosa, N. argentii, and N. bicalcarata "orange" and "red" with a N. bellii behind them

I wanted to get some shots of the whole tank, but it's so full of condensation right now that I can't. I'll try to grab some pics tomorrow morning before I spray everything.
