I’m not good with the math part of things , but on the box it says that each bulb has 78 lm/w at 24w per bulb. where there are 3 bulbs. did that make any sense?

Thanks Sue, it’s been allot of fun.. and I noticed that I messed up on a plant name its dracula lotax , not dendrobium. It has been allot of fun and i think the plants will just be happy as a clam.

Very nice!!! Great planning on that one! I wish I could build something like that!

Wow Kris! That is a cool terrarium! You have many nice orchids in there!

(that Lepanthes gargoyla is wonderful, can see it clearly in one pic!)

That really seems low to me as I understand T5 bulbs. That computes as only 447 foot candles. I'm sure you are getting more than that (or at least I hope you are!) So something here isn't ringing true! Someone help me understand! I figure I need at least 2000 F.C. light

Kris that's a beautiful setup ! I hope you don't mind if I use it in the new mistking store in the gallery section. Very well done ! And yes, the setup is begging for a pair of pumilios or red vents

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Tin, your setups are great. They area a great source of inspiration to many (including me)

Rs, I think I need to check things out with a light meter. I know the plants at the shop under the T5s are doing great and my plants in the terrarium are doing great as well. The light is super bright though, so much that I had to move some plants down.

Thats what I told him

Now on to that footcandle thingymagig.
A LUMEN is equal to one foot-candle falling on one square foot of area. That really complicates any calculations

You got 5616 lumens in that tank.
Sooo uhmmm
you got 5616 foot candles falling on one square foot of area???
