Biobottle setup (my first terrarium) Male
Default Biobottle setup (my first terrarium)

Hello!
I am quite new to the hobby. I have ordered a Dendrobium Cuthbertsonii from Ecuagenera and while in waiting for the delivery, i have setup a biobottle with the following:

- Bottle with LED 6500k
- A small waterpump that sprays the bottle and the Moss.
- A microfan with an RPM-regulator to create the colder climate and good air circulation.

Then i also have gravel in the bottom with water to help create the humidity, an epiweb branch with spaghnummoss and some cork bark.

What do you think, Will it be good enviroment for the cuthbertsonii?

Turn everything on with no plants inside. Measure the temperature inside at several times during the day.

6500k is an awful lot of light. It will depend on the type of moss you have if it can handle that strong light. I have a large terrarium with a 6500k led strip light in the top, moss 24” below on the floor does fine, but 12” up and it does not, turns yellow and refuses to grow. I’m experimenting wiith mosses to see if I can find one that likes that much light.

6500K (kelvin) is color temperature, which is called white light. It doesn't say anything about the amount of light.

Light duration and intensity are 2 ways for adjusting the amount of light.

If the light source emits too much light, in other words the light is too bright/strong to the point where plants/mosses scorch, lowering the amount of hours is not going to help. Only dimming the light source can be beneficial then.
