6500K (kelvin) is color temperature, which is called white light. It doesn't say anything about the amount of light.
Light duration and intensity are 2 ways for adjusting the amount of light.
If the light source emits too much light, in other words the light is too bright/strong to the point where plants/mosses scorch, lowering the amount of hours is not going to help. Only dimming the light source can be beneficial then.
