Default smallest of the mini orchids suitable for viv

Hey everybody,

I've been looking around to getting some orchids in the near future and I'm interested in some of the really small ones.

I noticed Restrepia condorensis in the Orchids that do well in terrariums thread.

Anybody have any? Pictures?

Thanks,
-Andy

Thanks for all of the lovely pictures.

I was looking for really small miniatures that grow well in vivariums/terrariums.

I've seen a few here and there on different forums but I figured you guys would know best which ones are suitable for vivs.

Thanks,
-Andy

Well,

From searching around it looks like Bulbophyllum moniliforme takes the cake.

Platystele jungermannioides
Encyclia polybulbon

There are so many out there.

Anybody have a source for the B moniliforme or something with similar growth habit?

Thanks,
-Andy

Here are some sources for miniature orchids -
J&L Orchids ~ Our Miniature Orchid Selections
Woodstream Orchids
Dragon Agro Products - Miniature Orchids
Andy's Orchids - Orchids Species - Orchids - Species Specialist - Orchids on a stick - go to the left column .. scroll all the way down to the search and check off 'miniature' and you should get a listing of 11 pages.
If you have a question of any species that you find as far as size and culture - a good resource is the Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia or Jay's - Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia
Here is a short article which mentions some minis in relation to their temperature needs - 2005/02
I hope this helps

Here are two that have been on my wish list for a while.

Den cuthbertsonii
Den toressae (leaves are 1/5" and the blooms are 1/8")
