Not really .. Hicks has nothing as far as minis .. neither does Martin Viette .. I am in Nassau county and have yet to check out Suffolk but I have not found any here .. do you know of any at all??
Most garden center don't even have decent orchid to begin with .. Hicks is hit and miss .. and expensive (I can do better online) and many there are from commerical growers and aren't properly identified.
The only thing I can think of are the Orchid Societies .. but I have yet to join one ..

I am in Nassau County as well on the border of Little Neck and Great Neck, I attend Queens College and don't have the time to join a local orchid society either.

I don't know of any local stores where I could snag some quick deals on miniatures, was hoping you had some secrets to share with me. Perhaps we could group an online order sometime, now that spring shipping temperatures have come around.

I'm not looking to purchase any minis at this time .. but perhaps if you make a separate post when you are ready .. you can attract a few others from the area

Lepanthes tsubotae: Leaves (1/4" adult size), Flower (1/4")
Lepanthes telipogoniflora: Leaves (1/4" adult size), Flower (1/4")
Lepanthes pilosella: Leaves (1/4" adult size), grows pendulous
Acostea trilobata: From what I've been told a colony can fit in an area the size of a standard postage stamp.
Chiloschista spp and Taeniophyllum spp: All are miniatures, The plant structure is a tiny protocorm with roots growing from it, Occassionally they produce rudimentary leaves
