Which size small fan for terrarium?
Default Which size small fan for terrarium?

Hoping for some help. I have an old SeaClear acrylic aquarium that I am converting into a terrarium for mini orchids. I am having a hard time figuring out what size small fan I should get. Looking for recommendations.

Many thanks.

What size is your enclosure?
I rigged a simple, old computer fan in a 90x45x45cm terrarium, and it gets the job done.

Personally, I think placement will matter more than size in this case. CFM also matters more than size, but for a small tank like that I guess I would say a 60 mm/20 CFM fan would be fine.

With an aquarium conversion, you might have ventilation and circulation issues so I would actually recommend putting it near the bottom of the tank and running it most of the time.

You may also want to point the fan away from the plants. Point it down, or forward at the glass. This way the plants only get a gentler indirect airflow.

I found these, and using just one is working out well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
