My Orchidarium Update
Hello all. I wish I could find the pics that I posted over the last two years of this tank to help you see the difference over time, but can't find them.
So, here I post pictures that I took 4/8/08 of my naturalistic orchidarium that I build in the summer of 2006. Many of the original inhabitants have gone to orchid heaven, many of their replacements as well. Some plants have been traded out, others removed for better culture etc and more put in. In the end, I now have fewer orchids in the tank. 9 of the original inhabitants are still with me. Bulbophyllum dearei, Angreacum scottianum, Phalaenopsis Mini Mark 'Holm' (it is now recovering from some sort of leaf rot or bacterial infection it got a year ago where it lost all but 1 of its leaves), 2 Ludisia discolor (thanks Sue!) and 4 Macodes petola. Another long time resident is Phalaenopsis lobbii, and then I got another one that is seedling size and growing well. Cirrohpetalum thiorium c.f. is growing like crazy, Masdevallia floribunda is doing well and Dyakia hendersonianum is growing as well.
Well the tank has been ravaged by mealy bug. So this post is in memory of my late Slc. Mini Beau (a victim of mealy bug) which won the position for the month of September for the 2008 Orchid Board Calendar (forever grateful to Jane for that one).
So without any more blab blab blab, here are the pics.
