Default My Orchidarium Update

Hello all. I wish I could find the pics that I posted over the last two years of this tank to help you see the difference over time, but can't find them.
So, here I post pictures that I took 4/8/08 of my naturalistic orchidarium that I build in the summer of 2006. Many of the original inhabitants have gone to orchid heaven, many of their replacements as well. Some plants have been traded out, others removed for better culture etc and more put in. In the end, I now have fewer orchids in the tank. 9 of the original inhabitants are still with me. Bulbophyllum dearei, Angreacum scottianum, Phalaenopsis Mini Mark 'Holm' (it is now recovering from some sort of leaf rot or bacterial infection it got a year ago where it lost all but 1 of its leaves), 2 Ludisia discolor (thanks Sue!) and 4 Macodes petola. Another long time resident is Phalaenopsis lobbii, and then I got another one that is seedling size and growing well. Cirrohpetalum thiorium c.f. is growing like crazy, Masdevallia floribunda is doing well and Dyakia hendersonianum is growing as well.
Well the tank has been ravaged by mealy bug. So this post is in memory of my late Slc. Mini Beau (a victim of mealy bug) which won the position for the month of September for the 2008 Orchid Board Calendar (forever grateful to Jane for that one).
So without any more blab blab blab, here are the pics.

Nice work, Tin! I like the variety and the natural look. I also like your perseverance. I am constantly moving stuff around to get the right conditions for everyone. It's tough, but you've got it. Way to grow!

Sorry to hear about all of your losses. But, even so, that's one beautiful set-up you've got. The ludisias look especially happy with the arrangement. Now you just need to add a couple of tree frogs or maybe even a small snake to your miniature Garden of Eden. What are the dimensions of the tank? Is it a fairly self-reliant set-up (with, say, the occasional hand-misting of plants being necessary), or does it require daily upkeep? Again, you've done a beautiful job. Congratulations.

Steve

Thanks all, nice fast replies makes me happy
This is a standard 20 gallon long fish tank. I had the glass doors cut to size and I installed them along with the screen vent at the top. I believe it is 36 x 12 x 12 inches.
I currently a variety of Eleutherodactylus tree frogs living there. They hide very very well.
And here are some pics of P. lobbii currently in bloom, this little guy loves to bloom.

Steve

Hi Steve, sorry I just remembered that question. The tank is fine without me. I do mist it every day, as early in the day as I can manage. But I have left the tank alone for 7 days or so in the past without problems, I simply turn the fans off while Im gone so it don't dry out.
