Large jar terrarium
A jar that held 1.2kg of Spanish olives. The plant inside is Pleurothallis sarracenia, in a 2"/5cm clay pot of sphagnum. The plant on top of the glass dish serving as a lid is a bronze/green form of Oxalis triangularis.

Cute and creative! You've made a Spanish olive Wardian case!
I'm curious how you deal with air flow for your pleurothallis. I have a "real" Wardian case (that I obviously paid way too much for!) and air flow is my biggest challenge.

Awesome. How do you care for it? Or do you open it and just provide normal care?

I open it every now and then to check on moisture, and take the plant out to look at it. The flowers are really neat. I remove fallen flowers. I don't soak the sphagnum, only dampen it. I probably open it every 2-3 days. The dish doesn't make a tight seal.

Hi ES...just looked up this little charm on IOSPE. Reminds me of a broken heart but appears easy to grow esp. in a Costco sized jar. Another project 4 me?

The fun starts with using the cocktail olives.
