I remember I read somewhere that this species doesn't live long in a sense that it will diminish at some point of time after some years of growth. Is it true?

I suspect the "diminishment" is due to poor culture.

A relief to hear this, then my only hope is that mine won't die on me due to that. Its flowers and scent are just precious.

If the plant was genetically "doomed", considering the low rate of-, and slow germination of seeds and maturation time, they'd be extinct, wouldn't they?

Yes, I agree. And that is what I am curious about, so I asked that question. Thank you for clearing my doubt

i think it may need a bit of a cool down during the winter time but i could be wrong. think it can tolerate lower temps than most phals.

My place is currently cool (at about 14-18C) and I reduce water to once a week, my plant seems fine. Actually I only have it for 2 months, and I notice that it already anchored well after repotting since I have it. I am looking forward to its flowers the next spring.
