Stuartiana var. nobilis x self blooms
Can't take credit. This was in low spike when I got it. I notice, however, some of the flowers are stuck together. Is this a first bloom thing or cultural?

Very nice! I just got one of these a couple months ago. Mine was in bud, too. Sadly, it only had three buds, and two of them blasted on me, but I did enjoy the one pretty flower. Yours looks like a more mature plant than mine, which only has two leaves. Are the leaves on yours mottled? It doesn't look like it in the picture, but I know sometimes pics don't show all the details.
I understand this variety is supposed to be a lot more compact than the standard Phal. stuartiana. I hope that's true!

They are not mottled yet. Plus, it's not under high light, which might bring out the mottling. They are, however, very dark.

Second blooming
Well, drat! I broke off the top part of the spike whilst clipping it so it wouldn't break. It still makes me smile. I love the spots!

Wow, very nice! I'm sorry to hear that you broke part of the spike, but that plant is putting on a gorgeous display for you!
(Mine that I got two years ago is just doing nothing, has never rebloomed.)

Gorgeous! I love the species, too. And the nobilis f(yellow) form is pretty special. A note, I don't think that this form gets much mottling on the leaves. Much more pronounced on the typical white form.

They were very faintly mottled when I brought it home two years ago.

Faint mottling is, I think, the most it will do. But the flower color is stunning. To get deep green mottled leaves, get the typical form of P. stuartiana to keep f. nobilis company (Plants stay moderate size, so you surely can find room for both...)
