I know this is close to the end of this thread, but I just wanted to comment on the posts about temps. I have 12 or so phals on a counter that divides my kitchen/living room, under track light led lights from Orchid Web, and another 10 in the picture window. I keep my house at around 65 thru winter, and literally all my phals, (including the ones in my front window) have done super. I actually just had the biggest spike and bloom season ever this past spring. Many of them stayed in bloom for 8+ months. I am thinking this could be perhaps because I have them all on a heat mat, set at medium temps. They are all in either straight bark, orchiata, or a bark mix with a tiny bit of spag. Last winter I didn't even use a humidifier, and aside from a few shriveled roots, there was no problem. I will also add that all but one of these phals are NOIDS, and this, from what I've read here, could also contribute to the success I've had with such low temps, and humidity in the upper 40's.
