It may be genetically a "Phalaenopsis" but is MUCH hardier. It is very happy grown warm, but can tolerate a lot of cold... I grow it outside all year around, meaning that on a few nights it can go down to near freezing. And it tolerates the low humidity as well.

Beautiful plant, and nice to see that you rebloomed it successfully! I bought one back at the end of summer and it has been busy growing roots and leaves, but I haven't seen any sign of a spike yet. But I can't remember if it was blooming size when I bought it, I may have to wait a bit longer! Now I have my eye on the miniature leaf, variegated types...
