Phalaenopsis (Sedirea) japonica Female
Default Phalaenopsis (Sedirea) japonica

After months of doing absolutely nothing, I finally got a spike and leaf start at the same time. Now, I have been graced with 11 buds/blooms. It's just starting to get a lemonish scent and not all the buds are open yet, but I can't wait any longer to share!

I am going to guess that this would be considered the wild type? It is from Andy's with no special cultivar info.

For anyone interested, I grow this in the cooler side of intermediate (the Masdie, aka bedroom). It has been growing right along side the Cattleyas in a southern exposure window all winter long, though I am pulling it back a bit now that the sun's rays are getting more direct and too much even for the Tolumnias. I hose it down with my pump sprayer when the moss is crunchy which is nearly every morning.
