Phalaenopsis tetraspis #C1 first bloom

First bloom from my little phal tetraspis C1. It has been putting out spikes non stop since I got it from the orchid show last year and now has 6 spikes and forms buds but they always blasted before they even hardly grew. I was very excited to see this bud start growing and plump up. This flower opened yesterday and is a bit wonky looking but it looks like it is ready to bloom as I now see 3 more decent sized buds that have made it past the usual size.

A little disappointed that it is such a deep burgundy colour instead of the bright red I had hoped for but is still very pretty. And it has a odd mango/tree bark fragrance that I rather enjoy.



Please excuse the quality of the picture as my phone is horrid, when I have time I plan to whip out my big boy camera and take some glamour shots ;p
