Phalaenopsis violacea magenta Male
Default Phalaenopsis violacea magenta

I bought my Phal violacea magenta from Carter & Holmes in the Spring of 2014 - it was a tiny plant that was 12-18 months from blooming. I was very nervous when I re-potted it because at that time it was the smallest orchid I had ever handled and I was scared that I would rip it to shreds while potting it up. I was so thrilled when I saw a flower spike start to grow this past May and it produced one flower bud that opened in early July. It is a beautiful magenta color and the fragrance is just absolutely amazing and very strong for such a small flower. I had a hard time trying to get the color of the flower right, the picture below is the best I could get. Definitely one of my favorite phals, I can't wait to see what it does next year when it is more mature.
