These red cornus are hard to photograph. I've yet to get a picture I'm satisfied with! I'm fairly pleased with this one, which I took against a white background wall, nearby lights turned off, and allowing the flash to do the work. I think a far better picture would come from using a muted, or shaded, flash or a bounce.
Finally got a new bloom to try the polarizer; it's a graduated one. I just shot two positions in two lights. I'll play around a bit more later but here's the results.
I wouldn't mind playing with filters but rather than spend the money for them (doing them digitally isn't the same), I'll save for a proper macro lens. No...save for a new camera (body)...macro lens...camera...lens...camera...argh!
