I have a Stuartiana I got online back in Dec 2014. When I got it, it came with mealies, but it made a quick recovery after some 3 in 1. The roots look flat and a light green/gray color unlike regular Phal roots. Like yours, they also seem to want to roam freely instead of behaving themselves and stay in the pot.

My plant is much younger than yours. The vendor quoted 12-18 months from blooming, and yes, what first attracted me to this lovely were the leaves and it's unusual quality. The flowers are going to be really pretty some day so that, too, was a factor. I am glad you posted your flowers. It gives me hope!

Mine adapted quickly to my home environment, but then again, most Phals do well at my place, but since it was so young, I was a bit nervous about it going downhill fast if I didn't treat it with kid gloves. I was afraid the mealies were going to kill it, but luckily, it made it through.
