Where to buy Phal. gigantea?
I'm not looking for an old plant as I've seen some for several thousand dollars haha!
I would like to try my hand at Phal. gigantea but can't find anywhere that sells them that aren't the cost of a down payment on a car!
Thanks for stopping by!

Good luck with your search. I've been looking for a seedling for over two years. Then last month a vendor on eBay had one up for bid and I won it for US$18 plus shipping of $8.00.
They are out there. You might also want to contact Big Leaf Orchids. The owner, Peter Lin might have a seedling.

Peter has one for auction on ebay right now. Auction states approx 1-2 years to bloom. LS looks to be about 12" in a 4"pot.

Al's Orchid Greenhouse and Louisiana Orchid Connection both have seedlings for sale. Al's charges $19 plus shipping the plant is in a 3 inch basket. Louisiana charges $28 plus shipping and the plant is growing in a 4 inch pot. I have ordered from both vendors and recommend both.

Thank you all for your responses!
Nikkik, I hadn't even heard of those places before. Thanks for telling me about them. I can't wait to get my hands on a gigantea! Do any of you guys/gals grow gigantea yourselves?

No problem! I do grow a gigantea that I obtained from a local grower. I have not had issues with it and I love the way it looks, but it is a VERY slow grower!

I have a gigantea. Very slow grower. They are prone to crown rot, so be very careful with water. Don't over water. They can sulk a bit when repotted. Get the biggest one you can afford because even in the best conditions it can be years before they bloom.

I just bought one yesterday... It's Phal gigantea x phal violeca 'Sumtra Org' it's in 6 inches pot. It's bigger than my hand, like over a foot long leave. I just learned that they're very sensitive one.
