Congrats on acquiring your plant! Happy that your two year search paid off (plants that I take that long to find I tend to favor in my collection).
I grow this plant intermediate, but definitely on the cooler side of intermediate in the winter. My plant is mounted, so it does get watered almost everyday. I keep this one a bit shadier then some of my other species phalaenopsis.
I will also give you this interesting piece of info. My plant went from being healthy and in nice shape to all 3 leaves turning yellow/brown and falling off within a week. The roots were still very healthy. I know some species of phals go deciduous, so I started to research the topic. I found a lot of conflicting information about if this phalaenopsis is actually deciduous. I figured I would wait it out and I still misted the roots almost everyday. About a month and a half of it being completely leafless, a new leaf appeared. It currently has three and is thriving. I just thought I would share my experience, in case something like that happens with your plant.
Good luck and I hope to see some bloom pictures of yours in the near future.
