Did it ever get a fragrance? I got a bellina 'in bud' from Hausermann's this September and it was wonderfully fragrant all day, perfuming the entire room and even a little beyond. I do have it under lights, however, where it is nice and warm.
Hopefully someone else can help you about identifying your new little growth. If it is a spike, I hope it doesn't take as long as my violacea. I bought it in July and it was just starting a spike. It took a break on the spike to work on a new leaf and new roots and now the spike is growing ever so slowly as it still is working on that leaf. Maybe by spring, I will have a bloom. :|

Lovely! I have a Phal violacea and a Phal Samera (cross of bellina and violacea), both are too young to flower. But I just might have to get me a bellina, yours is beautiful!

The only reason I am patient is because I have enough other plants and orchids to keep me occupied.

The bellina is really a winner. I have never seen one at the local orchid shows or at my orchid society meetings--I had only seen pictures of it. It is now one of my favorite orchids. And...I never thought I would say this about a Phalaenopsis. :|

Ah! That's key! Maybe my NY resolution should be to get more orchids to distract me.
