Default Keikei harvest day!

Hello!! Today I harvested three large keikei from my phalaenopsis pulchra! They have been growing on the spike for about 3 years. They are fantastic! I'm potting them up as we speak. All three in one pot. I hope to have a nice clump in the future and a good display of flowers hopefully.

The roots are about 7 inches long and each have 9-10 roots!

My little babies have all grown up! And one has a spike I think! there the green growth by my finger nail. The other is the piece of the spike it grew from.

It's better to pot them individually rather than all in one pot to avoid competition for water, nutrition and light. Also if one gets sick, it might infect the others very fast...

Yep, P. pulchra is a species on my wish list. One of these days, I want to get a big mount of those going, mom plant & a bunch of the connected keikis, all growing on one big mount.

Yours look really healthy! Congrats!

Me too!! When I get my own greenhouse one day that is my plan also!!!! The one pot plan is as close as I'll get now, which I hope works out. I saw online I think it belonged to al pickrel it was a phal luddemaniana on a large long mount and it was covered with keikei from the mother and the keikei had keikei!! It was amazing!!
