Mine has never branch either. I thought someone on here said that it was normal for it to branch. But mine always has 2 spikes. Is yours a regular one or this black one? I do know that mine has never had these tiny things trying to come out of the sides of it. I should try and get a picture. I have always had it in my kitchen window, which is way to cold for it but it always did fine in there. Now I have my Masd's in there so I put it in the living room.

Perhaps it like's it better in there. I miss seeing him every morning in my kitchen window.

Mine's also the black one. Though I never had 2 spikes, each year the spike has more flowers than the previous time. So maybe it's just a case of my plant still maturing, and the 2 spikes will come with time.

No branching on mine either, but usually two spikes.

I think so, mine had only one for a couple of years, then it put on a massive growth spurt (along with masses of new roots around the time I used seaweed extract, I got more mutant flowers when I was using that, but basses of roots and masses of growths). Once it got bigger it's always had double spikes.

Once again I am going to cry, I killed IT.

Yours is so beautiful and I'm so glad it finally has 2 spikes. I'll bet it will from now on. It was also one of my favs as well.

This year's display - three spikes that have branched and this time I trained them up the same cane. Definitely my favourite phalaenopsis and probably orchid.
