Just wondering if anyone here knows how long sedirea japonica seed pods take to develop. I have 2 pods that were pollinated back in April and i was wondering when to send them off to be flasked. Also any recommendations where i should send them off to?
I use Shane of Orchid Origins. He has a website with details. He may be able to help you with pod info too. If you pollinated in April 2014 it may be too early to even see if you have viable pods....
OrchidWiz lists a report of 155 days for green pod harvest of Sedirea japonica, but when you decide where to have them flasked you should definitely see if they have a recommendation.
Well it's now 120 days since pollination and so far the pods still look fat and happy. I have decided to flask myself. I'll be using phytotech p723 for the mother flasks. i have already prepaired a few mother flasks to be sown later and so far after 5 days there is zero contamination in the flasks. I'm going to go with the green pod method. wish me luck
