Default Purchasing Species Flasks in Bali

Hi Folks,

I'm off to Bali soon for work and was wondering if anyone knew of some good nurseries etc in Bali/Indonesia where one could buy Phalaenopsis spp flasks

Sorry Oz, I don't have any recommendations for that part of the world.
After looking at the AOS Orchid Source Directory, I found Ooi Leng Sun Orchids Nursery and Laboratory, Malaysia. www.aaorchids.com


Can I ask what type of work is taking you there - sounds like an interesting job!

Thanks Dave, much appreciated... Sadly Bali is in Indonesia so there'd be the same amount of red tape as importing them to Australia. Under Australian law I can bring six back without an import permit as hand luggage... I'm a microbiologist and run a laboratory here in Australia

Oz, if you are interested in Indonesian species, I've heard about Simanis Orchid. I don't know the exact location. Their web site has been down for a couple years, so I don't know if they are operational or not.
