Scent of a mannii
Unfortunately I didn't take my camera, but we had quite a few species phals at my orchid society today, including two mannii. I think mine (which flowered at Christmas) has better flowers (I'm biased of course!), but it was interesting to compare scents: it appears they are quite variable!
One plant had no noticeable scent (maybe wrong time of day or too many smelly plants on the same table!)
The second had a fairly strong scent of orange peel.
My own is not strongly scented (and only during the day) but it's a very nice scent like you've just broken open a segment of mandarin orange.
Since I'm interested in breeding for scent I'll be hoping to get some pollen from number two onto my plant at some point!
