Violacea ( var Malaysian 'winepress' x var Malaysian )
this seems to get a spike from every new leaf axil - it has 4 spikes so far. That's great !
Does anyone know what var Malaysian is supposed to signify ? this is from Hausermann's.
Photos taken in bright light/sun. Colours are darker...
btw - it has a fantastic scent.

For some reason Hausermann's is grossly behind on the times and still labels Phal. violacea and Phal. bellina as violacea var. Malaysia and violacea var. Borneo, respectively. Given that, what you have is violacea.

I don't care what it's called, it's stunning. Those colors are amazing.

Blazing August is right. It is the violacea from peninsular Malaysia. I had many years ago a large mature plant with 6 spikes and 14 flowers! The smell is much more stronger than the Bellina form! Congrats on a well grown plant

That's true... The colors are amazing. I like more this type of flowers than bent backwards

in bloom again. This has multiple spikes but only the latest is blooming, the rest are still green though.
