Phal. stuartiana - Orchid Board

So, my poor excuse for a stuartiana is blooming now for the first time for me (it has bloomed once before). I got this one from Orchids & More, and it came to me mounted and afflicted by something. It's still showing signs of said affliction and I don't know what it is. All I know, is that it doesn't seem to spread anymore, and that it causes the plant to reek when I water it. I'm seriously considering tossing it and try to get a new one, but that doesn't seem to be easy (this is the best I got last time I tried).

Oh, well, I'll see what I'll do. This is the plant when I got it:

The black spot still left (I won't remove it at the moment since it's too close to the stem):

Very nice! I think the plant recovered very very well, seeing the state it was in when you got it. I still don't have one.

I always plan on getting one when I order somewhere that has it, and just as I place my order the plant is sold out.... It's happened too many times to count, it's a very popular species apparently.

I know! I had such a hard time getting this one, that I'm reluctant to get rid of it, despite it being afflicted with what ever it is. I did find today, however, that Asendorfer has them, so I'm pondering about placing an order, when the weather allows, and get a back-up stuartiana.

I have a schill too, but I must say that the foliage on the stuartiana is much, much prettier, but I think that's only my schill and stuartiana. I've seen schilleriana with as beautiful a foliage as my stuartiana has (talking about the pattern now, nothing else

). I want my schill to bloom now, and this guy to start growing some new leaves.

WOW It obviously loves your conditions!
Very nice 'come back' even with the dark patch on the leaf. (I would leave it be too)

I hope it'll keep improving in my care. For some strange reason, the larger of the mottled leafed Phal species, seems to like living with me. My schill (although it's new since I replaced my previous one with a schilleriana 'Pink Butterfly') is also thriving as is my Wiganiae. These three all like whatever I'm doing with them.

My celebensis, however, does NOT like me, while my lindenii finally has adapted and started growing.
