Do you grow all your phals mounted? I am much more comfortable with mounted orchids if they are finicky about water. Will the bog standard chain store noID phals go ok mounted too or am I kidding myself? Also how small would you mount a gigantea? I have a seedling and the leaves are only about 2 inches long at this stage.

No not all my phals are mounted, no enough wall space.

As for you baby gigantea, perhaps it's a little too early to mount.
Another two inches more of growth in my humble opinion would be ideal.

As for those NOID phals, I really cannot say though I have seen quite a few growing mounted which are thriving.

Hmm, ok, thanks. I'm much better at growing things mounted than not and they were only given to me as cheapo ones that had finished flowering anyway so not the end of the world if I lose one experimenting! I might give it a try
