I got this plant a few months ago and immediately mistreated it. It seemed like the thing to do
however, I did manage to correct my ways and began giving this plant something it must has enjoyed because I never lost it and though I lost a lot of roots, I managed to keep many too. It lives 8 inches under t8 lamps with a highly reflective reflector (Mylar) on a heat mat in a grow area that. Maintains a 80% rh or more, depending on the time of day. It has two terra pots under its massive leaves so they don't break on the spine from flexing.
And recently I was rewarded for my small efforts... With not only a new root (I hope more are coming) and a new leaf! Woo! Krull and smith sold this plant to me and I thought I was going to get a different cross, however they sent this one and I consider it a huge upgrade as crystelle is a plant that bears very dark red markings on its blooms. Hoping for something pretty amazing though this is a seedlings so you never know.
The new budding root is difficult to see but since this pic was taken its very nearly touching the moss.
And then there is the little initial hair of a new phal leaf... Since taking this photos, its really begun to take off. It's easily double what you see now, which for a gig isn't saying much as it has a very long way to go!
