I still have a Phal lindenii that had lost all its leaves, but retained its rootstock, and it is still recovering.

I will post a pic of it later in the summer, maybe.

The point of me telling you this is that I think your plant will pull through just fine since you caught the problem. Phals can drop all its leaves and still recover if the roots are fine.

What you described when you caught the problem is one of the reasons why I advise to unpot the orchid when it is a new purchase, because you never know what someone else did to it.

I hope your plant recovers, Philip....it can really bring forth tiny lovely flowers.

Very good advice. Please keep us informed of your phals progress. They seem like slow leaf growers but good root growers to me. I love the leaf pattern and the tender flowers.

Just wanted to update my Phal lindenii. It's new leaf has really grown and I now have 2 flower spikes starting. One flower spike is beneath a leaf. Pretty good for getting crown rot and almost dying when I first got it.

My phal lindenii leaves are growing plus I am getting a new one. Those green stem like things ended up being roots ( it was hard to tell at first). I still felt it wasn't happy so I gave up and mounted the plant today. I put her on a clay pot saucer. I think she likes it. 2 hours after the change I see a root trying to attach to the saucer. So cool!

You must be giving it high humidity for the roots to cling easily to the clay

I have all my vandas in clay. Roots seem love to stick to clay. I just decided to mount the phal lindenii on that clay piece, since that is all I had right now. So far it seems ok. I have normal household humidity. I mist roots daily with a spay bottle, twice if it's hot. They get daily outside air and a fan.
