Phalaenopsis lindenii

I recently acquired a Phalaenopsis lindenii, it's very small in a bark pot. For some reason I lost a leaf but have new roots growing, and it looks like a new leaf starting. Are there any tips anyone has? I would like to keep it in a pot. There is very little online information.

Maybe I should ask my question of care in the beginners section but I did put it here since this thread is about the Phal. lindenii. I know they are endangered due to loss of habitat and I want to give this plant my best care. It seems more tender than my other phals, but hopefully I will get things right. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Phal lindenii is an intermediate to warm grower. Since I don't know your growing conditions, I can't advise you on why the orchid's losing its bottom leaf/leaves.

They grow well potted.

The low end of moderately bright light is fine.

Moderate humidity is appreciated.

Allow to dry between waterings.

If the orchid loses leaves, it is not such a big scare. It can be concerning, but I'd concentrate on the roots. If the roots are gone, the plant's gone. If the leaves are all gone, but the roots are still around, the plant can still rebound.

This orchid plant should not be treated with tenderness. Being endangered species doesn't mean they are fragile. They are just overharvested in the wild.
Phalaenopsis can take some abuse and neglect yet they bounce back and thrive well if given proper culture and care.
Check your plant for bugs maybe that's the cause of leaves falling. The mealies like to hide in the nooks and crannies. White stuff in between and the back of the leaves is a telltale sign. Just spray it with dish soap if you get a chance to prevent those bugs from sucking the sap.
If potted you may water it once a week or make sure the mix get watered before it dries out.
feed it fertilizer weekly weakly.
Because of its miniature size this is also ideal in terrariums.

Thank you so much for the great advice. I feel better already. I'd like to repot to a clear pot so I can see roots better, but I am going to wait until I feel it is less stressed. It does have 2 nice new roots with new little green tips that I can see, so there is hope. Here is a picture. The brownish area near center is cinnamon I put there after the leaf dropped off.

Thank you for the advice. Maybe it was stressed from the change in environment. I don't see any invaders. It does feel more delicate than my other phals, but it is very small.

Well I found the reason I was getting all the conflicting messages on my plant and how to water it. It looked like it had been potted in only bark and I could see some Styrofoam on the bottom but in between that was a thick layer of spag moss. Luckily I had kept the plant on the dry side and the roots were great. Now that it's re-potted it should be easier to care for.
I read that they may loose older leaves in the fall, so that makes sense too.
