Phal bellina 'Montclair' AM/AOS
First blooming on this plant. I was tired of getting supposed bellinas, only for them to turn out to be Sameras (bellina x violacea). So, I decided to grab a nice clone as a guarantee, while I continue to pick up random bellina seedlings as they came along. Enjoy this excellent clone with great form and a really great bellina scent.

Nice one.
How do you know when they are Sameras?

How do I know you ask. I'll start with this one which was sold to me as a higher potential seedling that the bellina 'TH' I was going to buy... The second is a confirmed Samera from Hausermann's, but was labeled differently from the nursery I got it from.

OK, that makes sense with those, but I've seen several I suspected were Sameras but there was no glaring characteristic that made me think that.

Yeah, mine have been pretty blatant in the Samera category. But this one is a keeper. Green tips to each petal/sepal is just awesome. Hopefully the flowers will get bigger, as the flower is a bit on the small side. Second flower just opened, so I'll ahve to update the pic.

Second bloom opened up. These are really great. Can't really tell but the top of the sepals are a nice yellow/green, especially when seen from the back of the bud. Great scent, great bloom!
