I'm not sure why you would want to do this. It's not the roots but the crown, so why disturb it more by removing it's medium to sphag-n-bag it? Just wondering
Personally I would just wait it out on both of them. Winter is not the time for growth or movement. A plant that's been shocked will probably get going late in the spring, but spring is still the time to see something.
I would water with luke warm, or even slightly warmer water as this can help kick growth out of a sulking plant in the spring.
