This one is not blooming at the moment, but its only flower survived the shipping to me long enough for me to take a picture of it. This was a month and a half ado so I don't know why I haven't uploaded it considering how post-happy I am.
Or maybe I have and forgotten about it.

Phalaenopsis equestris var. rosea is proper


if you dont cut the spike a good possiblity it will continue to bloom. equestris can bloom themselves out I have been told..

Hehe, I realized after I had posted it that something was missing in the title.

Oops...

I've cut the spike down due to me wanting it to focus on root growth and getting some more leaves. Apparently this was a clever decision since I discovered it practically had no roots, when I re-potted it yesterday! I decided to re-pot it since I thought it seemed so thirsty. Despite not having many roots (I think it has four-five of them) it's still working on a new leaf and also a new root. It's a good thing I decided to water this guy as often as I did.

Beautiful equestris var. rosea. This variation of equestris tends to have smaller leaves than other equestris variations. I purchased an equestris from Home Depot years ago, and it is by far my strongest and most prolific bloomer.

Interesting to note is that I have three Phal. equestris 'Blue Lip' and two of these have even smaller leaves than my rosea. They're still young plants though, so it's much too early to say that their leaves will keep being as small as they are.

This guy is stubborn and has still not bloomed. I think it's due to the fact that I discovered it barely had any roots after I got it, so it has been very busy growing a decent root system and some more leaves since it came here. Maybe it'll bloom next year for me, I really hope so anyway.

Hi Mutant, you didn't think that my equestris hybrid might be a blue lip? How blue is the lip? People describe things as being blue that are really more pink/purple sometimes, and when I look at my equestris for a long time, I imagine that maybe it is bluer than I first imagined!
