I need rehab! addicted much?

Ok, so over the past month I've gone a little crazy buying species... My goal is to own at least one example of each Phal species... it's a crazy goal I know and I know eventually I'll have to migrate to a glasshouse - what a shame

So, my collection now consists of:

P. tetraspis
P. venosa
P. lobbii
P. pulchra
P. speciosa var. 'Alba'
P. violacea var. 'Blue'
P. pantherina
P. violacea var. 'Coerulea'
P. violacea var. 'Alba'
P. sumatrana
P. sanderiana

most of those have been purchased in the last 4 weeks!

What a wonderful collection you have growing there!!!! It's always great to see people join the Phal craze, or as I like to say, the 'overzealous passion'! (mostly so I can deny my own crazyness!)

Crazy amount of orchids?? No, that seems like a reasonable amount! Whenever I order orchids they always arrive in groups of at least 4, to make the shipping costs worth it. And there are often several orders arriving at once....

All we can do for you here is fuel the addiction some more. So have fun collecting Phals! Collecting all the species is an ambitious goal, and I think you should add primary hybrids to the collection, those are always gorgeous!

You need a P. violacea var. 'Indigo' now, don't you? To complete your P. violacea list a bit more.

And there's also var. mentawai and the standard form! I too have the goal of getting every species and trying to make every primary possible, but I would probably focus more on the lines I want to breed!

Mutant, you two violacea, var coerulea and blue, could be the same. older, non Norton coerulea's forms will have a light bluish blue on the lower sepals. Hopefully the "var Blue" you're getting is a Norton style blue/indigo that will be awesome. Either way, I think any blue/indigo would be considered var coerulea.
Good luck with all the species. Just remember, some are more "stubborn" than others. I've only grabbed the ones I think I can care for without having to build a new setup.

And I'm going to a show on Sunday, with my pockets full of cash!! Nevermind that it's already costing me a lot to get to the show in the first place....
