Default Help with names on P. equestris variants. :)

I've found this amazing site, Phalaenopsis species by alphabetical order. , that is dedicated to my favourite genus Phalaenopsis.

There're several photos of Phal equestris but no names of which variant they show (except some at the bottom of the chart). I recognize at least three versions of Phal equestris 'Orange' for example, and also 'Blue Lip' as well as 'Apari'.

The names underneath each photo, is that the name of the photographer or the name of the grower?

I would really like to get my hands on some of these varieties (especially some of the purple ones ), but it's hard since I have no idea where to start looking.

These are some of the varieties I would really appreciate if someone could help me with a name (I think it's close to impossible but I could be lucky):

The thing with equestris is that there is A LOT of variation, and lots of discussions on what makes it an apari or ilocos or whatever. I'll try to dig up a thread I remember from a few years ago.

Normally the name on the photo is the name of the photographer, and that person may or may not be the owner of the plant.

This is what I suspected since there're names on some of the photos telling which variety it's supposed to be, but when I Googled on the name a lot of "wrong" varieties popped up.

Thanks for trying to find the old thread and for clearing up the whole photographer business, Camille.

I found at least one name; Phal equestris 'Summit Blusher'. This one's now added to the wishlist.

Thanks!

Oh, found one more that I want; either 'Royal Ruby' FCC/AOS (what do these abbreviations for?) or 'Hampshire'. Gorgeous colour.

FCC/AOS is First Class Certificate; AOS is American Orchid Society. You'd also HCC (Highly Commended) CBR (Certificate of Botanical Recognition) and CCM (Certificate of Cultural Merit) I think those are all of them and the right "full" versions of the awards.

A complete list of AOS award categories can be found here: Awards given by The American Orchid Society

Of course it is! So I want a real price winner then...

I'm so dumb sometimes (but at least I have fun )...

I found an interesting page when trying to figure out some varieties' names: Welcome to Sapphire Dragon Orchids - Home
Is anyone here familiar with this site? I'm very interested in buying a P. equestris 'Violet Eyes'. It's gorgeous.

I'm still looking for that thread, I can't believe how much we post about equestris! Trouble is that I can't remember if it's from 2, 3 or 4 years ago. I should just give up, but it's going to bug me if I don't find it!

Camille don't tire yourself out by trying to locate an old thread (I know the nagging feeling though of not being able to find what you know is somewhere). I prefer you being with the rest of us in the now instead of the past.

It's really sweet that you're still trying to find it, but if if you don't it's perfectly fine.

I gave up, I have a feeling that it was a sub discussion in a thread. I don't want to go through every single 'look at my blooming equestris' thread here to find it!

I dug up some threads with good info/pics though:
Phal equestris 'Orange'
