I completely understand that you don't want to do that. It would take forever!

Thanks for digging up those threads anyway. Oh, darn. So 'Royal Ruby' and 'Hampshire' are difficult huh? I don't even know if I can take care of an "easy" P. equestris yet. Lucky me it'll probably take some time to locate any of those varieties anyway so hopefully I've mastered P. equestris by then.

The first thread confirmed yet again how much I want a P. qeuestris 'Orange'. Just love it...

Oh btw, I have not accidentally ordered a P. equestris 'Apari' and a Dtps. Purple Gem 'blue' from Schwerter. It never happened. :

Of course you didn't order them, I believe you. It's the orchids that decided that since it's cold outside, there really needs to be more plants in the box to keep each other warm!

I see that Liu's Berry didn't feel like joining in on the fun?

Discus, you left out CCE (Certificate of Cultural Excellence) and AM (Award of Merit) in the AOS awards.

Maybe it would be useful to also put all these award abbreviations into their own thread. We (well, not me!) could add in what the criteria are for them (I know there are points involved for some). The thread could be make a sticky and could be a good reference for all those curious about the award system. We could limit it to AOS awards for now, and expand to other countries later.

Maybe such a thread already exists, I'd have to look it up.

Is anyone here familiar with this site? I'm very interested in buying a P. equestris 'Violet Eyes'. It's gorgeous.
Hi Mutant, I've bought several orchids from SDO. Very strong and vigorous plants, but I don't know if he sells outside of the US. Email him and ask.

I hope he does because this equestris is just gorgeous. I'll send him a mail and ask. Thanks!

I had totally forgotten to answer this.

Yup, you got it completely right! They mailed me and said it would be too cold with only three so if I could possibly add two more they swore to bloom as soon as they arrive (three out of five are seedlings, though ).

I had to put a limit somewhere and after much inner debate I decided that the one I really want is Dpts. Liu's Triprince Red (I just love that red lip ) so I shouldn't settle for the "second best". But now that I look at them again Dtps. Liu's Berry's lip is also gorgeous... Aaaargh! Ship the darn orchids to me Schwerter before I buy your entire supply!

Just so you know, ordering from outside of Europe is going to be expensive, you need to buy/arrange all sorts of permits... (CITES documents and import permits for sure)

I feel your pain.... The longer I have to wait to order, the more likely I am to add more plants! I don't understand why they have not resumed shipping, it's quite 'warm' now.

Mutant - You have got to remember that alot of the pictures that you are seeing of equestris varieties are one offs. Most of them have not been cloned so there is not another exactly like it. That's not to say that the other grex members weren't just as nice or better, just different.
