Thank You, Camille !
I also have the Shillie specimen but its sulking. Maybe it will bloom this spring.
The Phalaenopsis philippinense is also in bud...
these classic mottled leafed Phals are what attracted me to grow them...they are beside my vandas...they love bright sunlight...
Thank You, Mutant ! These orchids are endangered in their place of origin because of irresponsible harvest in the wild...I am glad that labs and growers mass produce them to at least preserve its lineage...
and collectors in their homes are able to care for them and enjoy them.
Thank You Bill...maybe you must put your plant in higher light...to make it bloom early and produce mottled deep green and silver in your leaves...
thats not a rock in the background...its those large old barks of the trees in the sidewalk of my neighborhood; the back of my building has this small corner where they hide the large thrash bins and the trees in the sidewalk is just perfect to hang my orchids for photoshoots...but I have to run and do it quick or my orchids will freeze...
Thank You, Tucker ! I think my plant is just a teener...I cant wait to see it grow into a mature adult that blooms 30 to 50 flowers...

Thank You, Connie...I am so excited for you...I cant wait to see the pictures of your blooms...

Great job Bud!!
I have two var nobilis and am awaiting for the type to come in from Taiwan next month. One of the. Nicest Phal. Species. Great job. I hear that they can make babies from their roots. Is it mounted or potted?

Thank You, Andre ! This is potted in a glass vase that I drilled holes in...so the roots also get to see the sunlight yet get humidity and nutrients from the media.
I read that this produce keikis from their roots...I will wait and see...

Very nice Bud - you will love it when it matures. Lots of blooms and fantastic branching and gorgeous foliage makes it a winner.
Here is my stuartiana f. nobilis 'Highjack' CHM/AOS I just got awarded.

Sorry to say it doesn't get the beautiful foliage of the regular stuartiana. When the leaves first emerge they do have the pattern but it fades before the leaf is mature. As the leaves age they turn a reddish color.

Now you need to go shopping for this variation too!

Brooke, that's a really interesting variation! Beautiful spots on it to, I like it better than the standard var. nobilis.
The lack of mottling on the leaves is surprising, you'd almost think that this is an entirely different species!

I had missed this thread; Good growing Bud and I really like your photos with the tree bark as a background. What is the container you have it potted in as doesn't seem to be a std plastic pot?
Brooke, Congratulations on your award! that's a real beauty! I had never seen that colour before. Well that's 2 more on my wish list. Thanks for posting.
